Rodrigo Leão

RODRIGO LEÃO is one of the most outstanding European composers, with a career spanning more than three decades of international success. Renowned for his eclectic talent, he began his career as a founding member of the iconic band Madredeus, contributing his distinctive style for almost a decade. Since then, he has built a prolific solo career that has established him as an essential figure in contemporary music.

With his unmistakable ability to blend neoclassical textures, melancholic pop songs and collaborations with international artists such as Beth Gibbons (Portishead) and Neil Hannon (The Divine Comedy), Rodrigo has captivated audiences all over the world. In Spain, his tours have been particularly successful, filling iconic venues such as the Palau de la Música in Barcelona and earning him a prominent place in the country’s cultural scene.

Throughout his career, he has performed at prestigious venues such as the Barbican Centre in London, the Grand Rex in Paris and the Kennedy Center in Washington, as well as composing acclaimed film scores such as the one for the historical drama The Butler. His work includes collaborations with the Gulbenkian Orchestra in Lisbon and soundtracks for international art installations.

Rodrigo Leão’s exploration of new creative horizons continues in 2025 with the presentation of his new album, the subject of a European and Spanish tour in which he shows why he is one of the most influential musicians of our time.
