Music with a Story

Iberia

A peninsula united by water and by music. The Tagus and the Douro rise in Spain and flow out at Lisbon and Porto; the Minho and the Guadiana draw the border. Fado, Portuguese song and Iberian tradition travel along those same rivers.

The fado that flows down the Mondego

After Fado Camões, one of the most internationally acclaimed Portuguese voices turns her gaze to the fado of the city on the Mondego river, whose landscapes moved Unamuno: its literary heritage, its university tradition and its popular music.

Portugal, told from the banks of the Tagus

More than forty years of music in a single concert. After O Rapaz da Montanha, Rodrigo Leão, co-founder of Madredeus, revisits Os Portugueses: a selection of his songs in Portuguese and his great instrumental classics that paints, from Lisbon and the banks of the Tagus, the emotional landscape of Portugal.

You will hear “Já Sabia”, “Vida Tão Estranha” or Madredeus's “As Ilhas dos Açores”, in a show crafted with great care in image, sound and light. New tour from January 2027.

“A highly gifted musician and arranger, famous for making even the smallest melodies sound big and important.” —Brigitte (Germany)

The water that unites the peninsula

“Water, where are you going?”, asked Lorca. Cello and guitar in an aquatic kaleidoscope: traditional music from the peninsula, Schubert, Sibelius, Jobim and original compositions.

Iris Azquinezer and Rainer Seiferth, as a duo or with guests: María Berasarte (voice), Andreas Prittwitz (saxophone, clarinet and flute), David Mayoral (percussion) and Enriquito (flamenco trumpet).

“Azquinezer and Seiferth share out the melodies, embroidering, glossing and reinventing them.” —Scherzo
