Music with a Story

From the Middle Ages to the Baroque

Medieval, Renaissance and Baroque repertoire in chamber format, performed by musicians with solid classical credentials and with today's freedom: improvisation, instruments that change their skin and bridges to the East. For early music festivals and series, and for chamber music programmes looking for something singular.

The dances of the Llibre Vermell

Taracea's new album returns to the Middle Ages with sacred and popular dances for vihuela, flutes, double bass, voice and percussion. Recreations full of fantasy and colour that respect the original.

Premiered at the Festival en el Camino de Santiago 2026, the programme follows a career that has taken the group to the Santander International Festival, the Gijón Early Music Festival and the London Festival of Early Music. With David Mayoral in the quintet line-up.

The Baroque theorbo looks to Persia

The album to be released in January 2027 continues the 2019 recording, with the same duo at its core.

Claire Antonini, one of the leading specialists in 17th-century French lute, regularly plays with William Christie's Les Arts Florissants, Le Concert d'Astrée and Le Concert Spirituel, and has accompanied Philippe Jaroussky and Patricia Petibon. Her recordings have received the Choc de Classica and 5 Diapasons, and her bond with the East comes from her years of study with the Persian master Dariush Talaï.
