ANDRÉS BARRIOS stands at the forefront of the new generation of contemporary flamenco piano, weaving a fluid dialogue between Andalusian roots, jazz and the classical tradition.
His solid international profile is backed by performances at venues such as the Teatro Real, the Auditorio Nacional, the Palau de la Música Catalana, La Fenice in Venice, the Alte Oper in Frankfurt and the Blue Note clubs in Tokyo, Beijing and Shanghai. He has also toured more than fifteen countries in Latin America. Nominated for a Latin Grammy in 2025, he has worked with figures such as Cañizares, Rocío Márquez, Estrella Morente, Arcángel, Michael Olivera and El Negrón.
With Marea viva (ARIA Fusión, 2026), recorded live at the Auditorio de Alicante, the pianist from Utrera takes that dialogue towards Black music, Latin American rhythms and electronics, without losing his roots. The album, which he presented at Veranos de la Villa in Madrid, is the latest chapter in a discography that began in 2016 with Flamenco vivo: Live in Sevilla and includes KM.0, the album that earned him his Latin Grammy nomination. On De Barrios a Lorca (2024) he reinterprets through jazz the popular songs rescued by Federico García Lorca and La Argentinita. In 2018 he won the Filón award for best instrumentalist at the Festival Internacional del Cante de las Minas.
